Why should you spend time studying doctrine? Did you know that most Christians, over 80%, only know what they were taught in Sunday School? When asked what they believe about a topic, they respond with what they’ve “heard” but not with what they “know” to be true. This results in Believers being hesitant to engage in any meaningful discussion about what they know about Christianity, let alone defend it against some of the most common misconceptions and attacks.
Now bring it home – could you explain why you know that Jesus is God, how salvation occurs, what an angel is, how Satan affects our lives, and why bad things happen to good people? Do you know where a specific story or lesson is in the Bible? If you turn to the Bible for guidance, do you know how to get the right interpretation of what you read? Do you know the plan for the future of time – what happens to those who don’t believe in Jesus? What is our purpose on this earth? These things and more are found in this course.
This material is designed for the normal Believer – and while entire seminar courses can be taught on any one of these topics, the time frame to work through each of these classes is, at most, 2 hours. Yes, there is a lot of material, but it is accessible. You can either work through it alone by reading the material and then reading the slides that go with each class, or you can get s small group together and ask someone to teach the material who has been through the course or who has taken Bible classes in church or in school. You can also identify a pastor or chaplain who can use the material to take a group through in small classes or seminars.
Any way you do it, you are on the right track to begin to go deeper in your faith by learning what the Scripture says about each of these topics. Go to Classes to begin your study.
