Final Evaluation

1. List three Bible Study Tools and describe how you would use them to understand a passage of Scripture.

2. A person tells you that the Bible is mostly allegory and that you can’t really trust what you read. List the five principles of Biblical Interpretation. Explain how you know that your Bible is true from cover to cover.

3. Describe what you would say to a person who believes that there are contradictions in Scripture.

4. Describe the issue of God’s sovereignty. Why do some people have trouble with this issue?

5. Demonstrate with Scripture that Jesus Christ is God. Use at least two references.

6. Describe three ministries that the Holy Spirit accomplishes in the life of a Believer.

7. Describe three limitations with respect to the power, intellect and holiness of Angels.

8. Describe three ministries particular to Angels in the lives of believers.

9. Satan is at work today in relation to both unbelievers and believers. Describe two of his activities in each of those relationships.

10. You hear that someone thinks the actions of a friend are being controlled by a demon sent from Satan. Can a Believer be “demon possessed” (have a demon operating inside them)? Explain.

11. Someone tells you that man is basically good and, left to his own, will usually do good things. Describe the issue of total depravity. If Satan was not active today, would man still sin?

12. A person in a Bible Study tells you “their loving God wants all people to be in Heaven and that all people could be saved”. How does the doctrine of election differ with that of ‘free will’ with respect to salvation?

13. A friend tells you that they are seeking a “second baptism” from the Holy Spirit so that they can demonstrate the gifts of the Spirit. Describe the problem with what they are talking about. Include the issues of positional, progressive and ultimate sanctification.

14. A person tells you that they think there should be more concerts and parties for singles at church. Discuss your view of this thought and describe what Titus 2:1 and Matthew 28: 19-20 say about the mission and ministry of the church.

15. A new attendee at your church asks you when they are going to have congregational meeting to vote on new leadership and to approve the new budget. Describe the different forms of government within the church, and explain a biblical structure for decision-making.

16. You become aware of a regular attendee at your church who is involved in a moral sin. What are the 5 steps of how you handle the situation Biblically?

17. Someone asks you why people do communion at their church. Describe the two ordinances Christians observe and the significance of each; what they mean, as well as what they do not mean.

18. Someone tells you they saw a ‘Left Behind’ movie and says that we can be taken “at any time”. Give them the Scriptural perspective on end time events. (To help organize your thoughts, include - but do not limit your answer to - concepts of the beginning birth pangs, the rapture, the tribulation, the Day of the Lord, the millennial kingdom and the battle of Armageddon.)
